Overview

Van and light commercial work needs a bigger compliant bay, not a permanent one. The SMARTRE-FLEX COMMERCIAL runs 8.8 metres long, 4.1 wide and 3.4 high, with a 3.0kW spark proof fan extracting at 4.2m3/s through Andreae dry filter media. It carries the same personnel door, workstation and paint mixing bench as the standard booth, and retracts back to 2.19 metres between jobs.

Recommended uses

SMART repairs, panel painting, priming and wheel refurbishment on vans and light commercial vehicles, for bodyshops, fleet operators and dealerships. The zip up front opening gives easy vehicle access; the replaceable air inlet filter panel gives an enclosed clean air environment when closed.

Exhaust ducting: fan supplied with a 630mm dia duct connector for vertical extract
The system is free standing and only requires ducting penetration through an outside wall to provide ventilation to the work area

Work area constructed from 4 modules of powder coated steel tube framework with semi clear reinforced flame retardant PVC sheeting attached to the inside (530g/m2, 0.45mm, BS7837:1996)

Plenum body: 1.0mm galvanised sheet metal of modular design, turret punched, pre-folded and ready for easy bolt together assembly, c/w personnel door and workstation paint mixing bench

The system should be installed in accordance with HSG140 paragraphs 221 and 222
The Hazardous Zone 2 area extends to a minimum of 2m either side and front of the extended work area
Supplied with a documented maintenance programme; failure to comply may cause warranties to become null and void

It is a four module work area rather than three, a metre taller and two metres longer, with a 3.0kW fan at 4.2m3/s in place of the 0.75kW unit. Layout and features are otherwise the same.
